I am a keen club runner, a Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer, National Winner of the 2020 AoC Sport Fitness Trainer Competition and England Athletics Coach in Running Fitness based in Sale, Manchester. I work with adults, and would be delighted to help you achieve your strength and fitness goals whether you are looking for a mobile Personal Trainer with a creative and varied approach, or you are an experienced runner wanting to work on injury prevention, strength and conditioning, or a new runner wanting to improve your running form, speed and endurance. As well as 1:1 personal training sessions in my private gym or via Zoom and bespoke online training plans via my Run PT app.
At 31 I have tried and failed on multiple occasions to bring running into my life, plagued with constant hip flexor injuries. I found Anne as I was determined for one last attempt. Within less than 3 months training with Anne I went from not being able to run more than 2km without hip flexor pain to running my first 10km race in 8 years (having only done one other in my life). All pain free. Everything has been highly personalised and drawn from Anne’s wealth of knowledge about all things running, mobility, strength, etc. Anne is the right balance of holding you to account yet flexible to fit training around life, and always with a focus on any particular issues in a given week. Anne has helped me all year train for the ultimate goal - Quest Adventure Race which I am doing to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Running has helped me physically and mentally with my diagnosis and without Anne I definitely wouldn’t have made the progress I have.
Absolutely delighted with my run at Manchester Half Marathon after 12 weeks coaching from Anne. I came to her lacking in confidence after some disappointing races but with a combination of a varied schedule that fitted really well for me and weekly PT sessions that were pitched at just the right level I feel that I’m really back on track with my running! All the way through Anne has been super encouraging and supportive and I definitely couldn’t have done this without her! Highly recommended!
I would highly recommend Anne, she helped me identify and achieve goals and I am now enjoying running far more than I ever have done before. Anne is the perfect balance of professional, friendly, goal focused and supportive. I have learned a lot about improving technique and where I used to suffer a lot of hip and knee pain this has now gone. I enjoyed the tailored programme Anne set for me immensely and can't say enough about the positive impact this has had on my running and life in general.
I’m a long term runner, advancing ever more quickly through the veteran categories! Injuries and niggles have also become a much more regular factor in recent years. As such, my running goals have moved - away from PB chasing and towards giving myself the best chance of keeping fit and injury-free, able to get the best out of myself and to continue to experience the joy of running.
I did an initial running technique review with Anne which identified several issues to work on and we’ve been having PT sessions for a few months now. I’m feeling so much stronger now when running - (and indeed in daily life). I notice that I still feel strong and remain upright at the end of a hard run, rather than slumping head down! And I’ve even got a couple of races lined up for later this year.
I love the specific running focus in the sessions and I’ve learnt so much from them. I’d highly recommend Anne. She is an excellent trainer - a great runner herself and she absolutely understands the highs and lows, anxieties and exuberance of running. She’s supportive, encouraging and knowledgeable, and everything we do is clearly demonstrated and where necessary adapted to take into account any niggles or issues. Combined with a weekly tailored running programme it’s just what I was looking for!
I decided I wanted to run the Manchester Marathon & I had no idea where to start. I suffer with lower back pain so I wanted to ensure I did not injure myself along the way.
From my initial session with Anne, she fully understood my goals, putting me at complete ease. Anne personalised my training plan, which set achievable targets, whilst pushing me and challenging my capabilities, ensuring I was able to stay on track. Anne was with me every step of the way, being on hand to provide updates and guidance via the app in the run up to the big day, keeping me calm.
I wouldn’t have been able to complete the marathon without Anne’s help and support. I would recommend her to anyone!
After struggling with injuries in previous marathon training blocks, I reached out to Anne for help. She created specific Strength and Conditioning sessions and a bespoke training programme. I couldn't thank Anne enough for the constant guidance and motivation through the training programme, navigating niggles, working through illness, devising race strategies, and achieving a half marathon PB in the training block!
As a result, I was able to achieve a massive 14min PB in the marathon, even feeling strong enough to push on at 20miles to a negative split!
I can't believe I've done a marathon! I really couldn't have done it without Anne's brilliant 16 week plan, words of wisdom and 100% belief that I could do it. On the day itself I found I was not only physically, but mentally prepared - and so able to actually enjoy the whole thing, rather than endure it - even when things got tough at the 24th mile! Anne wrote a plan for me for my first Marathon in London. After chatting about my goals, my current running and general home life she created a detailed bespoke plan for me. The plan was well thought out, fun to do and easy to follow. Anne was there with any questions I had, checked in on me regularly to see how I was. Offered advice and encouragement all the way through. After spending years thinking I would never ever get close to a marathon due to injuries and not being able to fuel properly, Anne's plan got me there uninjured and ready to go. Not only did I complete it but I enjoyed so much the discipline Anne's plan gave me and the training itself I have entered 2 more marathons and have asked Anne to write me another plan this time for almost a years worth of training. Anne is approachable, an amazing runner herself, super knowledgeable and I would recommend at all runners, from beginner to elite.
I’ve been doing these amazing classes every week for over a year. Not only that, I am able to do the classes from my living room in Northern Ireland - the class is live from Manchester! I don’t have to drive to a gym - amazing! Anne talks us through each movement, guiding us safely throughout the whole class - I don’t know how she does the exercises and talks to us at the same time!!! She is one very fit trainer and runner. The classes are tough but do-able and Anne provides low impact options for those who are injured etc. Even though I’m not in Manchester, I have felt so welcome in this online community. Anne is very warm and friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend Anne’s online classes to anyone who is interested in strength and conditioning - particularly for runners. I definitely feel a lot stronger and fitter since I started doing Anne’s classes. Thank you Anne; keep up your great work!
Anne's warmth and friendliness helped me to feel comfortable and confident from the outset. During a bespoke 12 week full package plan, knowing my goals (and limitations - one of which was a persistent knee injury), Anne has worked her magic. As a fellow runner, Anne understood how much I wanted to get back to running. As a brilliant coach, she has got me there, building up both distance and speed.
Without Anne's expertise, there is no way I'd ever have done so much focussed strength and conditioning work. Whatever the weather (!), the 12 outdoor PT sessions were always fun and enlightening, never the same, and pitched at exactly the right level. I was challenged and stimulated throughout. I now feel the fittest and strongest I have done for some time. Injury free, I recently ran my first half marathon in over five years. What a result! I'm looking forward to achieving even more in the next twelve weeks with Anne as my coach.
Anne’s 12-week programme has surpassed all my expectations. The bespoke training plan consists of different run sessions, strengthening and conditioning work and a weekly 1:1 PT session with Anne via Zoom. Everything is tailored to my level of ability and what I want to achieve.
I am now so much fitter, stronger and also have a couple of PBs that I never thought I’d be capable of!
It has certainly kept me focused during lockdown and I’m really looking forward to seeing what I can achieve in the next 12 weeks!

Anne has created a training program to train me for my first ultra marathon. I have been running solo for many years but have never felt as strong or as fit as I do now and I am only 8 weeks into a 20 week program!! For over 5 years I have suffered with persistant IT band and runners knee issues. Both of these issues have resolved since I started training with Anne which I can only put down to her running focused strength sessions and reminders to stretch! Anne is very personable, she always listens to you and will adjust sessions if needed. I am not sure how I will go back to training without her!
“Anne really is a fantastic personal trainer. Her passion for fitness and running really shows throughout her sessions and she really knows her stuff. She has great karma and really makes you feel like you can do it even when you feel you can’t. Her motivation and encouragement really gets you through the sessions - she makes you work hard but in an achievable way and the proof showed when I achieved a new Personal Best in a recent half marathon. The sessions are tailored to you, are fun and really make you work harder than you would on your own. Would recommend her in a (slightly elevated) heartbeat!!”
“I have had a number of personal training sessions with Anne, and can feel my quad muscles, core and upper body getting stronger each time. I even jogged for the first time (on soft ground) the other week - it felt brilliant. Although she is helping me to work on essentially the same muscle groups each session, every time has felt different and challenging in various ways. As a PT she is really calm but knows how to push me beyond my comfort zone so I can feel the results. If there are certain exercises I'm not quite ready for, she has shown me alternative ways to build strength in those areas without putting pressure on my knee. She has also made our training sessions versatile to work around my work and parenting commitments, so we have trained at her house, at mine and in the gym."
“I especially enjoyed the flexibility around where sessions took place and having the option to go out/stay in depending on the weather. Anne's directions were clear and she was really good at explaining how and why certain exercises would help me improve. She also gave me strengthening exercises to work on between sessions. The best coaches know when to push you and when you need a break and Anne was great at gauging my limits. It was motivating to have that encouragement and also because the sessions were varied and fun. I always felt I was in a safe pair of hands and was able to start marathon training with confidence that my injuries weren't going to undermine me.”
