There are a variety of reasons why you might benefit from a personalised nutrition plan. You may want to lose weight or gain muscle mass. Perhaps you are training for a marathon and want to ensure you can fuel your increased training load. Maybe you are switching to a more plant-based diet and want to continue to get the right balance of macro and micronutrients. As we grow older, our bone density reduces and we need to ensure we are getting enough calcium to protect our bones. Females in particular need to watch their iron intake – iron is needed for healthy blood, muscles and energy levels, particularly as training increases.


How it works

1. Initial consultation
This can be face-to-face, over the phone or by questionnaire. I will gather an overview of your current eating patterns, your activity levels and gather some details (e.g. your height & weight). I will also discuss with you your lifestyle (e.g. do you have other family members to feed and minimal time to prepare food) and any dietary restrictions and goals.
2. Food diary
I will ask you to keep a food diary for 5 days (to include a weekend) using a freely available app. Once following a plan, it is recommended that you continue to keep the food diary for the initial weeks to ensure that you are meeting your daily targets and are getting the right balance of macronutrients.
3. Analysis
I will calculate your daily calorie requirements based on your height, weight, age, activity levels and goals. Importantly, I will include the breakdown of carbohydrates, fats and proteins you need to include in your diet. I will review your food diary in detail to see how things can be improved and whether you are getting all the nutrients that you need.
4. Bespoke nutrition plan

I will produce a personalised 12 week nutrition plan to meet your goals, dietary restrictions, activity levels and lifestyle. I will make specific recommendations for changes and include your daily calorie intake & macronutrient breakdown. This can be done in conjunction with a training plan. I will always keep the advice realistic and flexible and can suggest recipes as required.
